Data for Innovation and Sustainable Development of the Society (DIHS)
|Funding from Vinnova||SEK 1 815 000|
|Project duration||December 2018 - November 2020|
Purpose and goal
The overall objective of the project is to provide residents, public sector, academy and companies with data that provides more relevant, intelligent and accurate knowledge about the society and to create a lab environment where new computer-driven innovations, especially those using neural networks can be created. This environment is then used for labs of different kinds and with different levels of difficulty where everyone with interest can participate.
Expected results and effects
The project will develop innovative solutions for creating open data assets that can be used for data-driven innovation. This data will be used in labs, offered to universities, companies and other actors who can develop and/or improve data-driven solutions, such as different types of chat bots, automated decision making, etc. After the project have ended, knowledge of both creators and denominators of computer-driven innovations has increased and networks of potential creators of innovations have been created.
Planned approach and implementation
1. Hardware in the form of mobile TPUs and different types of sensors will be procured and lent to innovators and used i labs. 2. Labs of varying lengths, often spread over several days / weeks, will be held in a common room. Ability to work independently and remotely, and use the lab´s resources, should be provided if technically possible. 3. Inspirational lectures shall be held by persons who have made interesting practical experiences or as done research in the field. 4. We will also be open to the lab to support student projects.
