Venture Impact Innovation Metals & Minerals - Program-specific efforts Vinnova
Call Impact Innovation: Resilient metals and minerals supply for strengthened preparedness

Purpose and goal

DRICaMP aims to develop data-driven methods for quality assurance of materials and processes in investment casting. The project will strengthen industrial resilience and supply security through improved understanding of the relationships between material properties, process parameters and final component quality. The objective is to enable more robust and reliable manufacturing of critical metal components.

Expected effects and result

The project is expected to deliver methods, trained models and knowledge enabling earlier detection of variations and deviations in materials and manufacturing processes. The results may contribute to improved product quality, reduced material waste and more efficient use of resources. In the longer term, the project can strengthen the competitiveness, resilience and supply capability of the metal industry for critical components.

Planned approach and implementation

The project will be carried out through collection and analysis of material and process data from investment casting, combined with the development and evaluation of data-driven models. The work includes experimental studies, data analytics and knowledge development in materials engineering and digitalisation. The results will be validated against relevant industrial cases to ensure practical applicability and industrial relevance.
