Purpose and goal
The aim is to develop a fact-based basis for an international demonstration project. The feasibility study analyses BVLOS over seas (C2 redundancy, emergencies, DAA), regulatory framework for cross-border UAS (permits, SORA, mutual recognition), defines UTM/U-space for the Kvarken corridor, establishes a Swedish-Finnish innovation framework with VTT and project for a 24-month UAS demonstration over the Kvarken.
Expected effects and result
Deliver a fully developed project proposal for a 24-month demonstration project with the goal of conducting real cross-border UAS flights over the Kvarken Strait.
Planned approach and implementation
The project is structured in three work packages running over six months. AP1 – Collaboration and management Establish and manage the bilateral collaboration. AP2 – Technical and regulatory Analyze the technical and regulatory conditions for cross-border UAS operations in the Kvarken Corridor, with input from a logistics operator perspective. AP3 – Operational concept Develop the operational concept for cross-border drone operations and prepare a full project proposal.
