Coordination of Living Labs for Transport-Efficient and Vibrant Urban Districts – Towards the Next Level

Purpose and goal

The project aims to establish and lead a transformation lab with a focus on transport-efficient and vibrant city districts. The starting point is the challenges that innovation projects face, where the project creates a structured process for joint learning, development and scaling up of solutions that can contribute to reduced car dependence. The goal is to jointly develop and test solutions with potential for broader impact.

Expected effects and result

By connecting local experiments with systemic change, the project enables scalable solutions that support the transition towards transport-efficient and liveable urban environments. The project further develops and tests learning and scaling-up approaches with a focus on translating project results into lasting change. This includes both dissemination among actors and influencing policy, regulations and other structures. Synthesized lessons are translated into scaling-up plans.

Planned approach and implementation

The implementation is organized as an iterative and collaborative process. A common system understanding and learning is developed by identifying recurring system challenges linked to e.g. PBL, parking, business models and acceptance. In the next step, complementary innovations are developed and tested in policy labs with relevant actors where the focus is on developing solutions that are feasible and can contribute to change. The results are synthesized and translated into scale-up strategies.
