Purpose and goal
The purpose of the project is to investigate the use of carbon in renewable batteries and how cellulose and forest-based carbon can be prepared and determine the properties of the material. We will also investigate how these materials can be integrated in battery technology and manufacturing.
Expected results and effects
In this Project we will make a comparison between existing commercial types of carbon powder and carbon mesh and those prepared using cellulose and forest-based materials. The goal is to identify applications for forest-based materials for battery and supercapacitor applications.
Planned approach and implementation
The project will be based on DCC project 1 with the addition of investigations from the application point of view. Literature study and interview with DCC partners Analyse manufacturing methods Investigate properties as powder size and conductivity Develop a generic specification for carbon from cellulose and/or lignin A secondary interest is to evaluate powder and fibers based on lignin. Ligna will rely on carbon prepared by DCC partners and external suppliers
