Important results from the project
Based on Stanford Universitie´s Collective impact model, we have revised the model together with Stockholm School of Economics. To then test and implement it in Bäckby, Västerås. By applying the tool, Mina svar, for impact measurement, the target group themselves has been involved in analysis and the design of new solutions. Activities aimed at involving more of the residents at Bäckby and strengthening empowerment. We have reached 1000 people and notice a movement on an individual level as well as increased trust in the police and social services.
Expected long term effects
An in-depth knowledge of running broad collaborations, a learning we bring into our respective organizations but also externally. Through the impact tool and analyses, we can measure the individual´s life-journey. The amount of data is still too small to draw conclusions at a societal level. But we see increased trust in authorities, and strengthened empowerment. The target group´s participation in the analyzes and identifying solutions lead to increased interest from other actors. All actors within the partnership continue to work on producing an impact report in 2023.
Approach and implementation
Covid has delayed the entire project. It has been by far the most challenging factor because we could not start activities to involve the target group. The model has been a support and a structure within the partnership to think beyond our organisations, but also helpful tool to explain to new actors. Through this way of working, we have been able to on work long-term even when events (shootings, for example) occur in the area. Instead of acting on cccasional events, politics has confidence in the work we do. This contributes to a calmer working climate and trust among the residents.
