Project duration October 2018 - June 2019
Status Ongoing

Purpose and goal

As development goes towards more self-driving vehicles, the need for verification will increase. The variation of scenarios that needs to be tested will be high - especially with regard to more complex environments such as urban and various infrastructure challenges. Digitalization of society also affects the test environment, as a realistic digital and communication environment is needed for testing. This project aims to create greater flexibility in the environments AstaZero can offer both in terms of physical structures and the digital environment to meet the future demand.

Expected results and effects

The result of this project will give Swedish industry and academy the opportunity to create and tailor urban scenarios both regarding physical attributes such as facades and materials to digital such as communication environments and simulation of connectivity. AstaZero will thus become world leader in the field and have created a great flexibility that can be further developed.

Planned approach and implementation

Work will be done in work packages: Study and requirements for how to realize modular environments for flexible environments Designing the urban environment to fulfill future needs based on sensor perspectives Create a realistic digital infrastructure for simulation city environment
