Important results from the project

Main goal was to establish a bilateral R&D collaboration between Swedish and Brazilian actors. Knowledge and relations were developed at meetings, workshops and exchange programs (~21 workshops; 12 study visits; 40 Brazilian researchers in Sweden within Science without Borders program). Collaboration and project opportunities were identified at the meetings and visits performed (about 50 ideas, 4 applications at VINNOVA calls as well as participation and support to 15 different applications in Brazil and Sweden).Dissemination and communication were also properly performed.

Expected long term effects

CISB Sweden has engaged various R&D actors, in Brazil and in Sweden, in project and new knowledge development by bridging business culture, finance structures, research and innovation logics. Mainly at workshops, study visits and knowledge exchange programs. New operational environment was established at CISB: neutral role, innovation mindset and triple-helix collaboration for growth. Increased collaboration in R&D expects to increase investments in research, common technical and industrial projects giving new possibilities for bilateral business driven by innovation.

Approach and implementation

The project was performed mainly in collaboration with CISB. Several relations were built between Swedish and Brazilian actors in R&D projects and knowledge exchange. Processes and dynamics for communication and ideas co-creation were developed and tested during the project. Knowledge in Innovation, Open Arenas and Triple-helix collaboration was created during the technical discussions on challenges and solutions. Collaboration was created with Lindholmen Science Park Arenas, industrial partners and R&D clusters in Sweden, aiming support to new funded and ongoing projects.
