Cirkularitet FFI – spring 2026 |
Purpose and goal
The project´s aim is to develop knowledge and methods for safe circular reuse of electric motors and power electronics from electric vehicles. The goal is to map needs, analyze component health and degradation, and propose an initial model for testing, qualification, and future reuse in new applications.
Expected effects and result
The project is expected to map barriers and opportunities for reuse of electric motors and power electronics, identify diagnostic indicators, and develop a first-version diagnostic and qualification approach. Expected effects include increased reuse, reduced resource use and climate impact, and a basis for a future full-scale FFI project
Planned approach and implementation
The project will be implemented as a pre-study in four steps: mapping industrial needs and barriers, exploratory assessment of representative components from the partners, development of a first-version diagnostic and qualification approach, and technical, economic and environmental analysis of possible reuse pathways. The work will be carried out through interviews, workshops, component testing and joint evaluation with the project partners.
