Purpose and goal

An understanding has been created of the structural factors that need to be changed in order to be able to recycle construction products. One of the insights is that more work will be required to change as Boverket´s building rules are designed according to products based on virgin raw material. The project has shown that it is possible to recycle construction products.

Expected results and effects

The project has shown that it is necessary to have good control and traceability of the inflow of the recycled raw material in order to be able to predict the outcome of the finished products. It is also necessary to have a test method and other dimensioning of fire properties compared to those currently specified in applicable standards.

Planned approach and implementation

It has been successful to review laws and regulations to use recycled construction products at the same time as the production concept has been evaluated. The pilot products have also been analyzed for fire properties using new technology adapted to be able to carry out more tests compared to conventional methodology.
