Important results from the project

The purpose was to contribute to more new innovative and knowledge-intensive growth companies. This by providing an efficient and customized incubation process. The incubator has since the time of application developed in a desirable way. There were previously well-functioning activities but this has been supplemented and further developed. Together with the incubator´s integration in the Science Park, we see several unique benefits. During the project period, the incubator has, in a significant way, contributed to more knowledge-intensive and innovative growth companies.

Expected long term effects

The expected effects of the incubator operations are that Jönköping County and Sweden will gain more knowledge-intensive and innovative growth companies that can contribute to increased attractiveness, competitiveness, employment, and tax revenues. The major effects can only be seen a number of years after the incubation, but we can already see examples of how companies grow and employ and how investors and larger companies get attracted to the startups that have come from the incubator´s activities. Exemplified by major investments and acquisitions.

Approach and implementation

The incubator at Science Park has been operated for many years, which means that there are established processes for development, implementation and follow-up. In addition, peer reviews between different incubators have been carried out during the project period, which has led to an exchange of experience and a basis for improvement work.
