Purpose and goal
The aim of the planning project is to strengthen Polar Light Technologies’s capacity to develop a coherent, competitive EIC Pathfinder proposal. The Pathfinder project aims to establish a breakthrough photonic platform using polarized-light-emitting microLEDs for ultra-efficient chip-scale optical interconnects, enabling transformative gains in bandwidth, energy efficiency, and miniaturisation for future spatial computing systems.
Expected effects and result
We expect the planning project to result in a strong, submission-ready EIC Pathfinder proposal with a committed consortium and well-defined scientific, impact, and implementation foundations. If funded, the Pathfinder project will accelerate the scientific proof-of-concept for polarized light-emitting microLED-based for novel optical interconnects solutions, enabling Europe to lead next-generation ultra-efficient data communication technologies.
Planned approach and implementation
The project will be executed methodically in three work packages: Consortium building, governance structure and partner commitment. Developing the implementation plan, including work structure, tasks, milestones, and risk management. Preparing the scientific rationale, impact analysis, budget, administrative forms, and full proposal documentation for the EIC Pathfinder submission.
