Purpose and goal
The project aims to develop and commercialize sustainable LED fixtures made from bio-based materials that replace metal. The goal is to reduce climate impact, strengthen Swedish innovation and industrial capacity, and create a scalable, circular production model. Through this, Sweden will take a leading position in sustainable lighting and construction technology.
Expected effects and result
The project is expected to result in a scalable, automated production of patented LED fixtures made from bio-based materials that replace metal and reduce the climate footprint by up to 70%. The results will strengthen Swedish industry through circular and digital solutions, create new value chains between the lighting and forestry sectors, and position Sweden as a leader in sustainable lighting and construction technology.
Planned approach and implementation
The project is carried out in stages focusing on development, testing, and production scaling. In 2025, tools will be developed, a pilot series produced, and CE certification completed. An automated production line will then be established in Värmland. The work is conducted in collaboration with suppliers, research partners, and industry stakeholders to ensure quality, sustainability, and market adaptation.
