Important results from the project

The main goal of BETCRETE was to unite the cement and concrete industries and other important partners in order to create consensus and agreement on a common implementation strategy to achieve climate neutrality. That goal has been achieved and BETCRETE has also identified a number of potential areas for further development and coordination.

Expected long term effects

In order to achieve climate neutrality until 2045, rapid but quality assured measures are needed as well as the development of innovative solutions that can contribute to a paradigm shift in the construction industry. BETCRETE, by activating the leading Swedish players, has proposed an agenda for activities in the short and long term where multidimensional problem solutions have been identified. BETCRETE has identified the main directions for the industry towards climate neutrality while maintaining strong industrial production and sustainable social development.

Approach and implementation

BETCRETE has focused on bringing together important parties in 3 workshops. The first workshop was dedicated to setting the agenda for climate-optimizing measures in the cement and concrete industry where ordinary parties from BETCRETE participated. To the other two workshops, significant external parties were invited with the aim of building a strong consortium that has potential to influence the implementation of cement and concrete roadmaps.
