Purpose and goal
The project aims to bring together Sweden´s regional public transport authorities (RKM) to jointly identify and plan relevant system demonstrators for autonomous, shared transport services. The goal is to develop a detailed and anchored project plan for one or more full-scale demonstrators where autonomous vehicles are integrated as a sustainable part of public transport.
Expected effects and result
The project delivers a national, anchored plan for system demonstrators of autonomous shared transport services. In the short term, a unified Swedish public transport industry with common requirements and shared risks is created. In the long term, this contributes to the introduction of self-driving technology in a way that accelerates the transition towards sustainable, climate-smart and accessible transportation for all.
Planned approach and implementation
The project is implemented in two main work packages. AP1 maps international experiences, conducts supplier dialogues and identifies relevant system demonstrators in collaboration with RKM. AP2 breaks down the visions into a concrete, feasible project plan. Through ongoing workshops and roundtable discussions with RKM, academia, suppliers and authorities, broad support is ensured. The project is run within K2, with operational support by Zeto AB and Pamp AB, in collaboration with Rådslaget.
