Purpose and goal
The purpose is to establish a test arena in a real airport environment that enables the development and validation of new efficient and safe solutions for an airport. The goal is to have a working test arena within two years, attracting a large number of regional, national and international players who want to develop and test solutions that help increase safety, increase cost-effectiveness, increase capacity, and increase sustainability.
Expected results and effects
Once the establishment is completed, realistic and qualitative validation projects can be implemented. These are expected to increase security, increase cost efficiency, increase capacity and reduce environmental impact. Furthermore, we believe that the effect of having a test arena in a real airport environment significantly increases the quality of research results, and the arena itself will be able to collect and domonstrate national airport research in a natural way.
Planned approach and implementation
The implementation project is being carried out for two years in partnership between LFV and Örnsköldsvik Airport and consists of 7 activities: Activity 1: Processes and Education Activity 2: Technical Infrastructure Activity 3: Physical Infrastructure Activity 4: Vehicles Activity 5: Marketing and Information Activity 6: Organization for future operations Activity 7: Project Management
