Important results from the project
AIDA has successfully achieved its objectives. Development and implementation of AI in the clinic has taken place within 38 sub-projects for innovation and evaluation. AI courses and eleven clinical fellowships have strengthened the expertise in healthcare. AIDA is and has been a key resource in precision medicine and lays the foundation for a wise, large-scale AI implementation that contributes to increased efficiency and cutting-edge in the healthcare of the future.
Expected long term effects
The results in various ways lay the foundation for large-scale and wise AI implementation in healthcare, first in diagnostic imaging but with ripple effects to other healthcare sectors. Among the project´s impacts are also increased expertise and leadership in national initiatives in precision medicine innovation. In addition, AIDA´s experiences are a very valuable resource for the development of infrastructures and support for AI-centric research and innovation aimed at healthcare goals.
Approach and implementation
AIDA has been implemented very closely to the original plan. The sub-projects have been piloted to high quality and relevance, with few deviations. The efforts have had good distribution across the country and between sectors. The arrangement with a central core that drives the community and overall knowledge dissemination has worked well. Mandatory participation in workshops was initially important to achieve a critical mass, which has subsequently led to high quality of the exchanges.
