Important results from the project

Node East will work to support national initiatives and accelerate the use of AI in all sectors. However, there is a special responsibility for actors and businesses in Östergötland to accelerate their AI journey. Linköping science park has been the host organization for the eastern node. Region Östergötland, Linköping municipality and Linköping University were partners from the start of the node, and Norrköping municipality and Science Park were added in 2021.

Expected long term effects

The project has fulfilled its objective satisfactorily despite difficult circumstances to start the regional establishment in the middle of an ongoing pandemic. The eastern node is now established and the work of accelerating applied AI regionally has started well. The team has found its roles and effective and innovative forms of collaboration have been developed. The project has succeeded in attracting and connecting a good mix of new partners and focused on introducing and engaging these new partners in AI Sweden.

Approach and implementation

The node has actively participated in team meetings, management meetings, host organization meetings and participated in strategic network meetings and workshops linked to authorities, municipalities, regions, and data factory. In addition to the region, the 2 municipalities, and the university, VTI, Spotcale and Smartilizer have also participated as partners from our area. Expert knowledge within Data Factory has been linked to the node.
