Purpose and goal

The purpose of A-TEAM phase 2a is to apply and evolve the process developed in A-TEAM phase 1 through research into: field data research, the test methods themselves and the test system. This research is conducted to allow the Swedish automotive cluster to develope active safety functions ahead of the current state of the art, in turn allowing the cluster to maintain its strong position in the area. All goals of the purpose were met.

Expected results and effects

The overall method for research into test methods and demonstrators is validated. The methods themselves are already used for development of new active safety functions thus ensuring effect on the vehicle safety goal. The mapping of research needs has generated several applications for new research projects. Knowledge created in the project also has effect on the standardization of test targets. Targeted efficiency gains were acheived but not only through thechnology, process and organizational actions were also used.

Planned approach and implementation

The project was split into eight WPs- project management, pre study, field data research, three method packages and two demonstrator packages. The overall method in the project has worked well. The project has been led on two levels in parallel- the overall level and on detailed testing level. This has also worked well. Practical test method and demonstrator research is challenging which easily leads to delays. Focused management of the detailed planning has turned out to be a success factor.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
