Important results from the project
The project is part of ECO2 Vehicle´s design SME activities and focuses on solutions to improve the sound environment in electric vehicles. One aspect of the project has investigated the use of a vibration actuator that vibrates door panels and windows and emits sound in the cockpit to replace speakers, potentially leading to up to 60% weight loss. The second aspect has focused on innovative simulation methods for predicting ventilation noise, an increasing grant from noise in electric vehicles, using multi-physics design optimization.
Expected long term effects
The outcome of the active panels sub-project contributes directly to Faurecia Creo´s innovation strategy in the acoustics and audio for the automotive industry. Work in this area continues after the project with potential for several patents. The outcome for aeroacoustics part project is part of a continuous competence. extension. The methodology is used today in a project against a Swedish truck manufacturer.
Approach and implementation
The work has proceeded according to the original plan. No specific difficulties to report.
