Important results from the project
The aim of the project was to develop a competitive Eurostars proposal for the startup company Adsorbi and its partners. The startup company has developed an innovative biomaterial that captures air pollutants. A proposal and project plan were developed with partners, but the proposal was not strong enough within the Eurostars format and the project was terminated. The collaboration now continues in other research and innovation projects.
Expected long term effects
During the project, we built long-term collaborations with suppliers and partners, facilitating knowledge exchange, lab and field testing. These efforts have laid the foundation for future commercial agreements and scalable production, strengthening the ability to scale up our innovation. Life cycle assessments have also shown significant potential to reduce climate impact in air purification, with long-term positive effects for the environment.
Approach and implementation
The project had milestones around the business model, partners, co-financing and application. The implementation showed that the activities were right, but the consortium was more challenging than expected, which delayed the proposal. Eligibility requirements from partners and Eurostar´s criteria meant that the schedule could not be followed and the proposal was never submitted. The cooperation worked in general, but unexpected limitations from partners affected the development of the project.
