Purpose and goal

DiCyano-projektet använde AI och avancerade övervakningsverktyg för cyanobakteriell riskhantering. Den utvecklade en digital plattform som integrerade realtidsdata och historiska data för förbättrad vattenkvalitetsövervakning och tidiga varningar. DiCyano-teamet (Sydvatten, Norrvatten, Växjö, SLU, WINWater, Brockmann Geomatics Sweden AB och Ramboll) ledd av Lundsuniversitet, samskapade innovativa modeller och operativa verktyg. Projektet främjade ny affärsutveckling och genererade innovativa vattenlösningar och ekonomiska fördelar.

Expected results and effects

The DiCyano project has produced significant effects across scientific, business, and social dimensions. These achievements demonstrate the project´s commitment to innovation, collaboration, and real-world impact, delivering tangible benefits for water management and climate adaptation. By successfully implementing advanced technologies and fostering collaboration, the project is well-positioned to further contribute to water management strategies and adaptations in the face of climate change.

Planned approach and implementation

DiCyano was designed with six working packages, which were comprehensive and well-balanced with responsibility allocation. We encountered big and small changes during the implementation process due to changes in partners and resources being used up. Thanks to both VINNOVA leadership and the team at Lund University, we were able to fulfill the main objectives with project extension and financial support. Affiliated projects beyond DiCyano were initiated and a new start-up and new business were created. Innovation projects as such need more legal support for future initiatives.
