Purpose and goal

The pre-study is to explore the possibilities of creating a digital twin of the Swedish tyre flows.

Expected effects and result

Our long-term objective is an operational digital twin of the Swedish tire industry that can: • Simulate material flows and scenarios in real time • Support decision-making • Strengthen transport capacity The feasibility study will define data, parameters and system boundaries, identify relevant models and technical solutions, map actors for a development consortium, formulate research questions and knowledge gaps, and develop a requirements picture, architecture and financing scheme.

Planned approach and implementation

The feasibility study of 9 months and support from a broad network across the transport, IT, and research sectors has five partially parallel work packages: 1: System analysis and requirements spec. (industry structure, material flows, actor landscape) 2: Strategic analysis of methods and tech. (digital twins, platforms, modeling approach) 3: Actor mapping and consortium building 4: Scenario definition for total defence 5: Synthesis, architecture proposal and roadmap for full-scale realization
