Status Ongoing
Venture 6G - Research and innovation
Call 6G - international research and innovation collaboration 2025

Purpose and goal

The project aims to combine hybrid positioning with standardized location APIs to strengthen Swedish industry´s readiness for 6G and next-generation smart factories. The core of the project is hybrid positioning in 6G environments - with the goal of enabling seamless, accurate and robust location functionality both indoors and outdoors.

Expected effects and result

We shall implement and validate the usability of the APIs in private networks, to ensured that they can support secure, low-latency and integration of connectivity, data processing and location services in various industrial use cases. This is crucial for realizing autonomous, context-aware production systems that can adapt to changing conditions in real time.

Planned approach and implementation

The project will design, develop, and demonstrate a modular and scalable hybrid positioning system built on private 5G/6G network infrastructure. The solution will combine multiple complementary technologies, including radio-based positioning, GNSS, UWB, and BLE, to enable seamless and continuous asset localization across industrial environments such as warehouses, factory floors, and logistics hubs.
