Vinnova and the Swedish Research Council have jointly set up an office to help the Swedish market benefit from the large research facilities ESS and MAX IV in Lund. Chancellor is Mikaela Rapp, who most recently comes from Stockholm Science City.
ESS- / MAX IV-kansliet is a collaboration between Vinnova and the Swedish Research Council on behalf of the government. It will support and coordinate the ecosystem of suppliers and users around the large research facilities in Lund. The overall goal is to maximize the benefit for Sweden by contributing with a holistic approach and coordination.
Kanslichef Mikaela Rapp has many years of experience as a researcher at large-scale research facilities, both in academia and business. Among other things, she worked at the Stockholms Science City Foundation to strengthen the ecosystem in Hagastaden's emerging life science cluster.
ESS- / MAX IV-kansliet will now redevelop initiatives and initiatives that help suppliers and users identify business opportunities at the major research facilities. It will help the Swedish market to get started taking advantage of MAX IV and ESS. The goal is to put Sweden on the map as a big science nation. In the start-up phase in 2020, the Office will develop a national implementation plan until 2028, together with actors in the area.
