Cooperation between Sweden and Germany is a strong priority within the framework of the “Innovation and cooperation for a sustainable future - A German and Swedish partnership for innovation” which was entered into year 2017. Long term, the partnership is expected to further strengthen the countries' competitiveness and lay the foundation for increased trade relations, exports and jobs created.
Vinnova and its German counterpart, The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Projektträger AiF Projekt GmbH, offers an opportunity to apply for project financing for collaborative projects for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in a new call for proposals. (Note that the number of employees is up to 499 in this case.) Germany, which is described as Europe's economic engine and one of the world's largest industrial nations, has shown great interest in SME cooperation between the countries.
An exciting opportunity is therefore offered for companies, as described above, to start joint collaborative projects such as development of new products, technology-based services or methods in all areas of technology and application. In the next steps, the projects must be able to generate sustainable solutions with both market potential and the opportunity to handle societal challenges in an international context.
At the meeting, the background, content and application procedure for both the Swedish and the German project applicants will be presented. Representatives from both AiF Projekt GmbH and Vinnova will share information on what the funding and applications processes look like in Germany and Sweden.
