Traffic safety and automated vehicles - FFI - autumn 2019

The sub-program Vehicle and traffic safety within FFI aims to contribute to the development of so-called zero vision vehicles. Zero vision vehicles are vehicles with systems that reduce the number of accidents, and reduce the consequences of the accidents that, after all, occur.

How much can you apply for?

There is no limit, but the guideline is a maximum of 50 percent of the total project budget. Each single project needs at least 25 percent co-financing from the private sector. Financing is granted for a maximum of 4 years.

    Within this offer, we support research and development activities for increased traffic safety and automation. The activities should contribute to reaching the transport objective in Sweden. The project will also contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of the Swedish automotive industry.

    We finance project that concern one of the following research areas:

    • analysis, knowledge and enabling technology
    • basic safety features of vehicles
    • crashworthiness
    • provides support and related interfaces between driver and vehicle as well as interfaces with co-drivers
    • intelligent and crash avoidance systems and vehicles
    • automated vehicles in the transport system.

    Allow enough time to complete the application

    Keep in mind that it can take several days to gather the information you need to complete your application, so it’s a good idea to start early. You can start to fill in your details, save and make adjustments until the call has closed.

    What happens after the call has closed?

    Once your application has been registered, we'll send a confirmation email to the person responsible for the user account, as well as to the project manager and the company signer. Please note that this may take a few hours after the call has closed.

    After the closing date, you can't register any new information. You may only add information to your application if we ask for it.

    Who can read your application?

    Applications submitted to us become official documents. However, we don't disclose information about business operations, inventions or research results if it can be assumed that someone will suffer economic damage if we do.

    This means that we must disclose the documents if someone requests them. However, we can black out information if we believe it could cause economic harm if disclosed.
