The way towards new energy efficient electronic systems
The area of smarter electronic systems, which is based on micro and nano electronics, photonics, micromechanics, power electronics and integrated systems, is increasing in significance in our society. The area is also key to unlocking the global challenges of the future sustainable society, for example with new energy efficient electronic systems.
Global challenges
Electronics allow new efficient solutions to address many of the global challenges facing the world, such as demand for energy saving, long term sustainability for the environment and healthcare and care of growing and ageing population. Electronic components and systems are a vital condition of these solutions.
Our objective
At present we have a healthy Swedish industry and a high international academic level within the area. But to stay on top Sweden must, among other things, improve the knowledge transfer and interaction in the value chains, focus on important technical peak areas, and guarantee supply of expertise in the area.
Our goal is that by 2025, Sweden will be one of the world leading industrial nations within those areas where we are dependent on information and communications technology for electronic components and systems.
