In this offer, we finance short-term pre-studies, full-scale innovation projects or pilot projects that meet the societal challenges defined in the STRIM agenda for sustainable mining and metal extraction.

Consortia of companies, universities and colleges, research institutes and other relevant actors with at least two industrial partners / companies and one research actor. Pre-studies can be applied for by a single party if the applicant can demonstrate industrial relevance in the form of a letter of intent from at least one company.
The budget for the offer is SEK 20 million. For pre-studies, a maximum of SEK 500,000 can be applied for and for a full-scale innovation project a maximum of SEK 10 million. For full-scale projects and pilot projects, the total funding is max. 50 percent and for pre-studies max. 75 percent.
With this offer, we can finance shorter pre-studies, full-scale innovation projects or pilot projects in one of the following areas:
Pre-studies can be up to 6 months, innovation projects up to 36 months and pilot projects up to 18 months.
The Strategic Innovation Programme for the Swedish Mining and Metal Producing Industry (STRIM) is part of Vinnova, the Swedish Energy Agency and the Swedish Research Council Formas joint program for strategic innovation areas.

To apply for funding, you need to fill out an application form in our portal, Vinnova's eServices Portal. The form contains questions about the project, project partners and budget.

Keep in mind that it takes time to make a proposal. Filling in all the templates can take several days, because they are based on analyzes you are going to do. Therefore, start the proposal well in advance. You can start filling in data, save and continue at a later time. When the proposal is complete, you mark it as ready. You can at any time unlock proposal and make changes right up until the call for proposals closes or has readings.
Once your application has been registered, we'll send a confirmation email to the person responsible for the user account, as well as to the project manager and the company signer. Please note that this may take a few hours after the call has closed.
After the closing date, you can't register any new information. You may only add information to your application if we ask for it.
Applications submitted to us become official documents. However, we don't disclose information about business operations, inventions or research results if it can be assumed that someone will suffer economic damage if we do.
This means that we must disclose the documents if someone requests them. However, we can black out information if we believe it could cause economic harm if disclosed.
