CELTIC-NEXT - Information and Communication Technology - Spring 2019

With this offer, we want to support projects with actors along the entire value chain in information and communication technology (ICT), such as digital security, artificial intelligence, 5G, the Internet of Things, smart cities or e-health. The application must be sent to CELTIC-NEXT.

What can you apply for?

International collaboration in projects focusing on information and communication technology (ICT) in networks and cloud services, such as digital security, artificial intelligence, 5G, Internet of Things, smart cities or e-health.

Who can apply?

Research organizations or industrial consortia consisting of at least two independent organizations in at least two EUREKA countries. At least one Swedish small or medium-sized company (SMF) will participate.

How much can you apply for?

There is no upper limit, but we finance a maximum of 50 percent of the project's eligible costs. We usually fund the projects with between SEK 5 and 15 million. The projects usually run over three years.

    With this offer, we want to support projects with actors along the entire value chain in information and communication technology. The projects can relate to everything from development of test beds, prototypes to the development of common standards in telecoms and networks and digital security, such as research and innovation projects focusing on information and communication technology (ICT) in networks and cloud services, artificial intelligence, 5G, Internet of Things , smart cities or e-health.

    In order to obtain funding, the results must be relevant to the Swedish business sector's competitiveness. Expected project results include prototypes and demonstrators that can be displayed to potential customers, as well as contributions to international standards.

    Expected effects of projects are, for example, new products, new business opportunities, competence building and standardization that are relevant to Swedish business and industry's competitiveness and supply of skills.

    CELTIC-NEXT is part of EUREKA

    CELTIC-NEXT is an innovation and information technology (ICT) cluster in network and cloud services, such as digital security, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, smart cities or e-health. The CELTIC-NEXT cluster is part of EUREKA where generic technologies of great importance for European competitiveness are developed. All EUREKA cluster projects are public-private partnerships with broad industrial participation, aimed at promoting research or encouraging standardization processes.

    The application process takes place in several steps

    You can apply for our project grant only when your project has received its project application approved by the EUREKA network.

    1. First you send an application sketch to CELTIC-NEXT (not to Vinnova). Ansökan is in the form of a sketch, Extended abstract. This is optional but is strongly recommended.
    2. Then you submit a complete application, full project proposal to CELTIC-NEXT.
    3. After you have submitted a complete application, you will find out if CELTIC-NEXT has approved the project and given it an EUREKA Label.
    4. If you have received the application, you are invited to send us an application.
    5. Based on the applications and a project interview, we make a final assessment if you receive funding or not.
