We set high standards of accessibility and follow international rules and guidelines.
Our website is built according to international standards and guidelines for accessibility. We want everyone to be able to access vinnova.se regardless of abilities or circumstances.
We set high demands on accessibility
To make vinnova.se accessible, our website follows the official guidelines for the public sector Guidance for web development. They're based on the international standards WCAG 2.0 level AA. Our level of requirements is above this level on several points.
We also work closely with one of Sweden's foremost accessibility experts, Funka. Funka has reviewed our website since the beginning and will stay with us in the continued development. Their accessibility requirements are based on the official guidelines, but go significantly further and also set requirements on exactly how the guidelines should be met.
An accessible website benefits everyone
Our accessibility requirements include everything from contrast between text colour and background to plain English and clear menu structures. This benefits all users.
Some accessibility adaptations aren't visible, but are necessary so that users with aids will be able to get the information. Severely vision impaired users can for example use screen readers, an aid that reads out the website's contents or converts it to Braille. We've also adapted the website so that our users will be able to navigate with the keyboard instead of the mouse. For these functions to work, there are certain requirements on how the website has to be structured: how the code is written and how the content is formatted.
Help us to improve our accessibility
At Vinnova, we always want to discover new ways of doing things. We regularly carry out user tests and listen to our users' needs. But sometimes, we miss things. If you have a suggestion about anything we can do better, we'd like to hear from you.
