Evaluation of the Öresund Contracts for cross-border R&D cooperation between Denmark and Sweden

In year 2000, VINNOVA´s and VTU´s joint programme "the Öresund Contracts" was initiated along with some other initiatives in connection with the inauguration of the new Öresund Bridge over the sound that separates Sweden and Denmark. The intention of these initiatives was to strive for a common, internationally competitive region around Öresund.

The present evaluation focuses on the individual contracts but also on the programme as such (including the centre contracts-instrument) and on the entire experience of cross-border RTDI collaboration in a regional context. Since the Öresund Contracts Programme will not continue, the focus of the evaluation has been to learn from the experience in order to underpin similar initiatives in the future.
