VINNOVA’s Transport Department is involved in the EU’s programme for research, development and demonstration. The department is also involved in COST and EUREKA and acts as a national representative in the EU programme Marco Polo.
VINNOVA is also active in ERA-NET Transport, which aims to develop collaboration on transport research in the EU. Within the framework of ERA-NET Transport, VINNOVA has assumed responsibility for the development of a maritime safety programme focusing on "a ship’s ability to survive". Germany, England, the Netherlands, Finland, Norway and Denmark have preliminarily agreed to take part in this collaboration. The work is led by VINNOVA and the Swedish Maritime Administration.
