IVSS - Intelligent Vehicle Safety Systems

The IVSS programme aims to stimulate R&D to produce the traffic safety solutions of the future, activities that may result in smart technology and IT solutions that prevent fatalities and serious injuries as the result of crashes. Key areas include active safety, injury-prevention measures and the development of road holding and crash safety in automobiles and commercial vehicles. The programme also focuses on the development of intelligent vehicle and traffic systems, which also includes systems for increased safety for unprotected road-users. 

IVSS is run by the Programme Council for Vehicle Research which is made up of representatives of several authorities and companies, including VINNOVA.
