The American magazine Red Herring has recently published its Top 100 Europe award, a rating of the 100 most innovative companies in Europe. Ten Swedish companies are listed and several of these have received funding from VINNOVA.
On the list of the Top 100 European innovation companies and entreprenuers are a number of Swedish companies that have received financing from VINNOVA. These are:

- Tech Reform Sweden
- squace Mobile
- Tobii Technology
- Transmode Systems
- Xelerated
The magazine Red Herring editors sift out companies based on both quantitative and qualitative criteria, such as economic performance, technological innovation, quality of management, execution of strategy and integration in their respective industries.
