1,000 participants, 44 countries, 800 matchmaking meetings

Next week, over 1000 innovators and representatives of research-intensive companies from 44 countries gathers in Stockholm to discuss smart cities and global partnerships. Among the speakers are Swedish State Secretary Oscar Stenström, Helen Goulden, Executive Director Innovation Lab, Nesta, Jae-Hoon Chung, President of Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology, Denis Coderre, Mayor of Montréal and Sara Mazur, Vice President and Head of Ericsson Research. The conference is organized by Vinnova and the Ministry of Enterprise and Innovation under the Swedish Presidency of EUREKA.

During the EUREKA Innovation Week 2016 all EUREKA programs will be gathering and showcasing projects and initiatives. This has resulted in 800 business to business meetings during the matchmaking event which is arranged by the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) - a record number of EEN B2B meetings in Sweden. The participants will also have the opportunity to visit 70 Smart City and EUREKA projects at the exhibition and on site in the greater Stockholm area.

- During the EUREKA Innovation Week, we have the opportunity to showcase Sweden as one of the most innovative countries and to focus on the possibilities for international cooperation in the areas that are important for Swedish industry such as smart cities. Sweden is a small country and to get access to the most outstanding research, we need to attract and cooperate beyond our borders. In addition to presentations of various innovative initiatives, participants will also have the opportunity to make field trips to Ericsson Studios, the Stockholm Royal Seaport and to the City of Stockholm's Grow Smarter projects, says Tomas Aronsson, coordinator of the Swedish Presidency of EUREKA.

The EUREKA Innovation Event is open to all who are interested in international cooperation. The participants come from small and medium enterprises, industry, universities, research institutes, government ministries and agencies.
