Chinese views on Swedish management

A conference on Swedish management from an international point of view

VINNOVA and the Swedish Institute arranges on March 16, a seminar to discuss the study "Chinese views on Swedish Management - Consensus, conflict-handling and the role of the team".

Swedish management has attracted international interest and may sometimes serve as a model for effective and progressive leadership. In positive terms, the Swedish management tradition is often described as non-hierarchical, consensus-seeking, delegating and informal - attributes and characteristics that are often associated with opportunities for learning and innovation.

But, In order to increase knowledge about the Swedish way of leading companies and organizations and how it is perceived by the leaders who come from a different tradition, VINNOVA and the Swedish Institute assembled a number of Swedish and Chinese leaders to discuss Swedish management.

The results have been compiled in a report, titled "Chinese views on Swedish Management - Consensus, conflict-handling and the role of the team" which will be presented at the seminar by the author Mr Pär Isaksson, journalist, Affärsvärlden and commented by Ms IngaLill Holmberg, Associate professor, Stockholm School of Economics and Mr Frédéric Cho, Senior Advisor, Handelsbanken.
