VINN NU

VINN NU is a competition for new companies that base their operations on R&D results.

The aim of VINN NU is to make it easier for new R&D-based companies to prepare and clarify commercially-interesting development projects at an early stage so that they can progress, find subsequent funding and, in the long term, become successful Swedish companies.

The fields covered are the development of working life, biotechnology including biomedical engineering and foods, energy technology, information and communications technology, materials, product realisation, process engineering, services and IT utilisation and transport.

VINN NU was started in 2002 together with NUTEK and the competition has been held every year since then. In 2005, VINNOVA was the sole funder of the competition, while from and including 2006 the programme will be run together with the Swedish Energy Agency.

Every year, 20 winners are announced and each of these receive SEK 300 000.

Ann-Louise Persson is responsible for the programme at VINNOVA.
