Pioneering ICT

Pioneering ICT means information and communication technology that “clears the way” for future products and solutions in industry. The impact of pioneering is significantly greater than incremental improvement, as it prepares the way for new kinds of applications.

Knowledge on a product and application level is necessary but not sufficient in order to assure future prosperity and job growth. Pioneering technical solutions radically changes the conditions for old applications and may enable new ones. Projects and expertise on a basic technical level are also needed.

VINNOVA’s Pioneering ICT programme aims to support research in information and communications technology that prepares the way for future products and solutions in industry.
