E-services in Public Administration

Services in public administration can be performed and provided more effectively and at a lower cost by using electronic, interactive services. Major market opportunities, on the international market too, will arise for companies that develop and supply new types of services and products and technical solutions.

VINNOVA’s programme E-Services in Public Administration covers organisations in public administration (authorities, municipalities, county administrative boards, county councils) and the companies that supply IT and knowledge-based services to them. The focus as far as growth is concerned is on increasing cost-effectiveness in public administration by means of interactive, electronic services and on the demand for the development of new IT-based services that will thus be created.

Two calls for applications for funds have been issued under the programme; the Innovative Development of Cross-Border Public E-Services project issued a call in 2004, while Cross-Border Public Services for Companies has issued a call for the period 2005-2006.

Madeleine Siösteen Thiel is responsible for the programme at VINNOVA.
