Test Site Sweden
The motor industry invests large sums of its own money in research and in the development of new products. The State, both independently and jointly with the industry, funds several extensive research programmes. Before the results of these investments can reach the market, they often need to be demonstrated and tested in different environments.
VINNOVA has been commissioned to work together with relevant authorities, companies and regional bodies to establish a national test arena for vehicle safety, Test Site Sweden (TSS). A preliminary study has been conducted and formed the basis for the government decision on TSS made on 8 June 2006. VINNOVA was assigned to implement Test Site Sweden under this decision. Lindholmen Science Park has been appointed by VINNOVA to co-ordinate this work.
The State’s investment in the Test Site Sweden programme will amount to a maximum of SEK 32 million for the period 2006-2010. The assumption is that the industry will contribute at least the same sum.
